Al Khalidyah is one of the most prestigious areas in Abu Dhabi. The focal point of the area is the massive building, Khalidiya Mall which is home to Lulu Hypermarket, variety of shops, food outlets and children’s play areas. The Khalidiya Centre also hosts a branch of the Paris Gallery.

The area lies within 26th Street to the east, 32nd Street to the west, the corniche to the north and 11th Street to the south. Restaurants and several food outlets are located in every nook and cranny. Choithram supermarket, Abu Dhabi Co-op and Abela superstore are some other shopping avenues where you can find an extensive range of western branded foods.

The Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation which comprises the National Archives, the National Library, and the Institute of Culture and Art is located next to Qasr al-Hosn. The area has many parks such as the Family Park, Urban Park, Al Markaziyah Garden and the beautiful Khalidiyah Garden.

Khalidiya hosts plenty of health care facilities including Central Hospital, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) and Al Jazeera Hospital, nearby at 11th and 2nd Streets. The Gulf Diagnostic Centre is close to Al Khalidiyah and the Swedish Medical Centre is just behind the BMW garage with the Advanced Dental Centre at the next door.
