For the 5th year in a row, Classical Music, is returning to Cacela Velha on August 9th, 16th & 23rd, with another edition of the "Classic in Cacela" cycle.

The aim of this event , which has attracted more than 1,500 spectactors, is to expose the talent of young, less well known musicians to the public.

The music this year is by Vivaldi, Schubert, Beethoven, Piazzolla, Rossini, among many others. Opening the Classical Music Cycle on August 9th is acclaimed accordionist Gonçalo Pescada, who will present solo in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption on August 9. Hailed by the press as one of the greatest contemporary accordionists, he has performed for and won over national and international public.

Entrance is free (optional donation on leaving the church)

The cycle continues on August 16th with brass quintet "Fifth Empire", who will play in the old cemetery of Cacela Velha. Formed in Lisbon in 2011, the Group is composed of five members who give give life to a tuba, a trombone, a horn and two trumpets.

The 5th edition of the "Classical Cacela" closes on August 23rd, again in the Church of Our lady of the Assumption with "Ad Libitum" a trio led by talented violist Sophia Tang.
