Scoobys Pool Bar

We had a great time in the area. First time here but won't be the last. Had the best time at Scooby's. Breakfast was great and we ate here most of the week. Simon is a great guy and brilliant host!

Made out holiday very enjoyable, frienldy staff and owners. I would recommend days and nights here, lovely clean pool and the food is very nice too. We also loved the cocktails lol!

May I say as the owner of scoobys that I've had 11 wonderful years at scoobys and met some lovely people who have become good friends. Every year I reinvest your hard earned money you've spent back into the bar. As those who know I'm very fussy on how I run this bar I.e. Cleanliness, customer relations etc etc. I know what we do right at scoobys but over the years I've listened to my customers on how to make things better all round. I love scoobys as much as I did the first day I bought it. Thank you for all your great reviews it makes me proud. Hope to see you all soon. Scooby xxx

Thank God for Scoobys! We stayed In Bayside Salgados.........................where the pool was absolutely MINGING ( I dread to think of what diseases my kids might have picked up had we used that pool more than twice !!) Scooby to the rescue :) Scooby came and picked us off, dropped us back and picked us up and dropped us off again on the same day more than once !!! The place is immaculate, reasonably priced, nobody can do enough for you, the staff are amazing........especially the lovely girl with glasses and red hair(sorry I cant remeber for the life of me her name :( ) My kids loved the Krazy Golf...............And the TURTLES Haaaaaaa. We ate there several times, always very impressed with the gorgeous food, its like home from home!! My hubby loved watching the live footy matches on the big screen, and most of all I loved the HALF PRICE Cocktails til 8pm :) All in all Scooby and his staff helped make our Holiday FANTASTIC, so thank you guys for that!!!! And will defo see you all again next year...................you may be sick of the sight of us lol!!!!! P.S I agree.........................get a hotel sorted Scooby haaaaaa !!!! just got back from bayside portugal, thank god for scoobys bar.Scooby lovely fella and his staff were so welcoming, the krazy golf, pool and playground were brilliant, the food was great, it was spotlessly clean, they picked us up and took us back to apartment, there was entertainment on a few of the nights...overall the best pool bar portugal Thank you Scooby ps ( build a hotel scooby)

we ve just got back from a brilliant holiday at bayside - salgados and found scooby s by accident. we loved it straight away and ended up spending 2 days and 2 evenings there. the entertainment nights are great and the sangria is gorgeous! lovely business, lovely boss and lovely staff x

You havnt been to the algarve till you have been to scoobys pool bar,wow atmosphere is amazing fantastic food entertainment for adults and kids alike, the food is absolutley fantastic with the staff waiting on you hand and foot the prices are really good and to top it all scooby himself offers a shuttle service picking you up and dropping you off from and to your residence, people i implore you to please go to scoobys bar i cant put into words how good it is , totally made my holiday .thank you scooby

This was our second year of frequenting scoobies and as last year had a brilliant time! The music nights on monday and Friday are buzzing, the music is for all ages and you just have to get up and dance!! I am a carer for 2 ladies with learning disabilities and it is the highlight of there holiday to go and see scooby, Becky and the gang we are made to feel so welcome and nothing is to much trouble for them. We always make loads of new friends when we are there and the layed back friendly atmosphere makes us feel so at home. Every little detail of things you would need have been thought of. The food is excellent and really good value for money. You and your gang are doing a fab job scooby and we will be back next year as the ladies are already asking to come and see you all again!!!

Me and my family have been to scoobys everytime we have been to portugal and will be definatly going when me and a friend return in september :) very welcoming and a great place for families

We had to leave the villa at 10am but the flight wasn't until 10:30pm that evening. I was told about Scooby's and was a bit apprehensive as I thought I'd need to wear a premiership football shirt to get in! So much for pre-conceived Ideas. Fair play to Simon, Becky and the staff. They were excellet and very welcoming. Before finding out about the place I thought I was going to be in for 12 hours of hell with a 7 year old, 5 year old and 2 year old to look after but the time flew by. Food is excellent and reasonable and so are the bar prices. Pool is excellent, there's plenty of shade and sun beds and you also get free internet access. If I had heard of the place earlier I'd have gone there a couple of times just for an evening out rather than just a place to hang waiting for a flight. If I go back to Gale (and I probably will because it's a great holiday destination) then I'm sure to pop in.

guys, this is the place to chill , home from home. simon and staff are more then great. . small but friendly bar and food is great. tv outside with football etc, kids area , lovely pool etc , what more can you skk for. thanks simon , becky, steve , jodie and staff. keep up good work but simon slow down , you will have a heart attack. irish owen and lisa x

Had two weeks in the Algarve, Castello. Headed for scooby's bar having been before. As usual the welcome from simon and becky was warm and friendly, with a variety of beers and coctails, good homely cooked food all served by the friendly and helpful staff. Simon is always willing and helpful and always goes that extra mile to make your visit and stay a really enjoyable occasion.

It was my last day in The Algarve, and we decided to go to the live music event that Scoobys Bar was hosting (Fri 29th May). We arrived, and the atmosphere was great, the venue was packed. The staff were extremely attentive, service was quick and pleasant. The singer (Craig) actually looked liked Robbie, sounded Robbie!! Extremely authentic sound. In addition he sung Elvis, The Drifters, Paulo Nuttini, Scouting For Girls, so a really good mixture. Scooby let some lanterns loose in the pool (thought was good Scooby!!) Prices fair. Food suberb. Service excellent. Scooby gave out teddy bears to the kids - a really nice touch. We go to the Algarve each year, and I would actually make a special trip to go to Scoobys bar, just to catch up with him and see what more improvements he has made. Its a shame I am not there the see the World Cup on his Hi Def plasma screens - I bet the atmosphere will be electric there. Wifi access saved my skin - thanks for that....and it runs at a super fast rate - around 20mb. Good luck with the Motown singer on Monday - shame I can;t be there. All the best for 2010. Scoobys bar is definately the best place to be in Portugal especially if you have children. With a lovely swimming pool to laze by, a park and crazy golf to entertain the kids and football on in the bar for the men!!! The owner scooby has made our holiday with so much enthusiasm, a really friendly guy who will do anything to help you and make sure your holiday goes smoothly.....he has made our holiday very enjoyable! we look forward to going back

Great personal service from Scooby and his staff. Super fast broadband facility (very useful) & free. Good food (although no vege breakfast - would be a good option! They offer a free pick-up and drop off service, will be making use of this at some point Half price cocktails (around 3Euros now! - great value).

We got stuck in Sao Rafael, Algarve during the volcanic ash problem. We were chucked out of our villa with nowhere to go with 4 children. Scooby picked us up and took us back to his bar where he found us a villa to stay. We went to Scoobys everyday after that where he and his staff made the third week fantastic. His meals were great and the portions are big. Scooby and his wife Becky were so helpful. They don't pressure you into eating at their place every night. In fact they even took us shopping so we could eat in and save money. Our 4 girls enjoyed Scoobys as well as they were off in the park or playing crazy golf. Definately the best place to take your kids while away in the Algarve... We really can't say enough good things about Scooby, his wife and staff that we now can't wait to get back to Portugal. We now wished we had found Scoobys bar earlier as it turned out to be the best week in the 3 weeks we were there.

We visited Scoobys Pool Bar frequently on our recent trip to Portugal during the volcanic ash flight ban. The owner Simon and all the staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. You feel as if you are at home and nothing is too much trouble. We met lots of other families at Scoobys all of whom were stranded like us. Our daughter made lots of friends and had a great time in the pool and playing mini golf. Simon reduced some of his prices on the menu and let the kids play mini golf for free as we were all stuck not knowing when we would be able to return to the UK. I would recommend Scoobys very highly to everybody visiting the Gale area.

I really can't say anything other than that Scooby's is FAB. Me and my boyfriend have just got back from 2 weeks in the algarve and we were so lucky to have found Scooby's just round the corner. The best thing about Scooby's is the staff, they are all so lovely and are more than happy to help with anything to make your holiday more enjoyable. The food was gorgeous, the crazy golf is fun and the pool is one of the deepest in the algarve. I really can't say enough good things about Scooby's, the owners and the people who work there. Thank you so much for making our holiday one of the best!

If you want the best family orientated bar in the Algarve, visit Scoobys. My three boys loved it there- swimming pool, kids swings, crazy golf, pool table, free wifi, Sky Sports,ESPN and excellent food and drinks. Owner Simon is an incredibly enthusiastic and energetic host and nothing is to much trouble for him in helping you enjoy your holiday. Special thanks for all the help given duing the"stranded period." when Simon did all he could to keep the Brits spirits up. The english breakfast is legendary and I would suggest unmissable. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and my family always felt relaxed and at home whenever we went there. Scooby's is definitely worth a visit!

And it really is!!! Scooby's is by far the best in the algarve,,I didnt want to go anywhere else it has everything!!! A beautiful pool ( pretty sure its one of the deepest in the algarve) ..Really nice and well kept gardens and a 15 hole crazy golf!! The whole place just feels so clean when you walk in and the food is superb..both quality and quantity!!! But nothing beats the staff...they will do anything to help you have a brilliant holiday!! Both Scooby and bex are absolute legends and we will definately be going back!! Thanks again guys!!!

I was on holiday with Mike (review below) and I want to reinforce his comments and encourage you to visit Scooby's Bar. Without it our holiday wouldn't have been the same. Scooby is a legend and you will be looked after and made to feel special, like you were his only customer. I am not one to visit the same resort twice, however both Mike and I are looking forward to revisiting Scooby's Bar in the future. Thanks so much to Simon and the team, you are one in a million.

Just spent two weeks in Gale (the second being courtesy of a certain volcano) and have nothing but praise for Simon and his team. Our first week on holiday was fantastic (the volcano week I'll mention shortly) and every time we went to Scooby's we were very warmly welcomed with nothing ever too much trouble. Simon will pick you up from your villa/apartment and drop you back there when you're done, he was even giving us lifts to the local restaurants. We found it hard to find decent places to eat and drink but Simon and his staff know the area very well and can give you a full appreciation of whats on offer in the vicinity, even the competition. The food here is never a let down, fairly priced, and is always freshly prepared. Of particular note are the home made desserts, the fudge cake being a particular personal favourite of mine. Drinks are good too with a range of beers on draught or by bottle (happy hours are also in force so even better!) and cocktails half price all day until 8pm, just what you need when you're on holiday in the sun. Even outside of the happy hours drinks are not that expensive anyway. Full Sky Sports/ESPN etc. and always showing the football so you never miss a thing. Also free WiFi and sunloungers around the pool. This is the only place in the area that has a dedicated kids pool and play area with swings, slides, grass etc. whilst also boasting the deepest pool in the Algarve at 17 feet. There is also 15 hole Krazy Golf and a pool table along with arcade machines. Plenty to keep the kids occupied and the staff are also great with kids. So, the second week courtesy of a certain volcano! Obviously a lot of people ended up stranded and Scooby's more or less instantly became a hive of activity with Simon at the centre of it. Simon done that much for everyone I don't even know where to start and I definitely won't be able to mention everything here. Families kicked out of villas were picked up and found accommodation by Simon, people were driven around to pick up medication and shopping, use of the Simon's personal laptop was provided to keep up to date, he was always on the phone to various holiday reps and companies to glean the latest information for his customers, he even offered us the free use of his apartment if we got stuck for accommodation (which almost happened). On top of all this he halved the prices of his breakfast menu and extended happy hours which helped people out massively. We borrowed a stack of DVD's from Simon which were great for the rainy days and I even got hold of his phone charger as I had forgotten mine. People were being quoted ridiculous prices for taxi/minbus transfers to France to catch ferries and Simon actively discouraged this and distanced himself from those responsible for ripping people off. This was much appreciated as we were actually considering paying a lot of money for a very uncomfortable, and unnecessary, road trip to Calais. I could go on forever, this guy is an absolute legend and will do anything for anyone. His staff are awesome and are wisely chosen. Our second week would have been incredibly miserable, as would many other peoples, had it not been for Simon, Becky and the team. I personally can't thank them enough for what they've done. Not only did they help make our holiday awesome they were there for people in a time of need when everyone else was busy ripping people off. If you're in the area, check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Scooby (simon), Becks and crew are brilliant. they look after you without being in your face. This is the ideal family location for food, play and sunbathing. We have been going to scoobs for well over 8 years and our holiday wouldnt be complete without spending the day/evening here at some point during our stay. Nothing is a problem for these lot. they will help you with the location of banks/pharmacy etc....and will even run you about in their mini bus....! perfect.!! back in april..watch our simon/becks the boring boy and family are coming out for two weeks....get the kettle on

we stayed 100 yards from scooby's, but simon(aka scooby) would pick us up and drop us back. brilliant days and evenings. i don't recommend bike hire, when we got back-- they knew, we were knackered. thanks for looking after us so well. the cheddar crew.
