Ruccula restaurant in Alvor is no longer the new kid on the block. Heading into their fourth season the restaurant just goes from strength to strength. Excellent food combined with professional service and the warmest welcome around has ensured Ruccula's success.

Located just uphill from the Ria Alvor, and next to the local church - whose bells provide a wonderful soundtrack - Ruccula serves quality international cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.

Ruccula’s slogan – “you come for the food, you stay for the service” is just as true if reversed. Richard reigns supreme in the kitchen. All the food is freshly prepared each day and great care is taken for each dish to suit each particular guest. It is no accident that Ruccula has an open kitchen – guests can peek into the kitchen and there is great flow of communication between diners, staff and the chef. Dishes include Honey glazed goats cheese with tomato salsa, Fried chicken livers and apple in puff pastry with Madeira jus, slow roasted Shank of Lamb, fillet of Beef in a potato basket and fillets of Sea Bass served with a mango and coriander salsa

The décor at Ruccula is ruby and gold, but its warmth pales in comparison to the welcome that Bela and her family have for each guest. Ruccula is the type of restaurant where you enter as a party of two and leave as a party of ten! During the summer months you can dine on the open terrace and enjoy the stunning view down to the waterfront and across the protected bird reserve, not to mention the sunsets. In the winter, the restaurant is cosy and welcoming.

Ruccula is a great option for couples and for gatherings of friends. It is also perfect for golfing groups.
