Nelitos Restaurant Overview

Nelitos is a very attractive and elegant restaurant near to the Algarve resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. A meal here is an experience of fine dining in lovely surroundings punctuated by excellent service and wonderful food.

The menu at Nelitos is varied with many international, Mediterranean and Italian dishes to choose from. Particularly appetizing are the Funghi Nelitos – mushrooms stuffed with prawns in a garlic and brandy sauce, the large scallops in butter, garlic and wine and the Lobster with Linguini - a house special. Special mention for the fantastic Fillet Steak with Foie Gras paté and madeira and cream sauce. There are pasta and rissotto dishes galore and a good selection of fish and vegetarian dishes too. Pizzas compete the authentic italian menu and the presentation of each dish is impeccable.

You can chose from the à la carte menu or from the set menus, which offer several choices and at €25 per person represent excellent value for the quality for the food.

New for 2012 is Nelitos take-away menu. This features almost all the dishes available on the à la carte menu, including pizzas. Check for the Nelitos Special Offer - a free bottle of house wine on take-away orders of more than €20.

Worth particular mention is the Nelitos wine list, or book which is probably the more accurate term, containing over 30 pages and listing over 300 wines including some exclusive vintage ports. The wines are stored in the temperature controlled cellar and the Sommelier's assistance in choosing is invaluable. Nelitos wine selection and service is ranked at #2 in the Algarve by the prestigious Wine magazine, and in the Top 10 in Portugal.

Located in a lovely garden villa, Nelito´s opened its doors in May 2006. Husband and wife team Manuel and Linda Teixeira had previously owned two restaurants in the U.K. before opening in the Algarve. You enter by the airy and spacious conservatory. Here a huge suspended cocktail glass serves as a central chandelier. You can choose to dine in the conservatory and enjoy the sense of space and light, or in the central dining room. The tables are spacious and set well apart, offering privacy to diners. The deep red of the seating is complemented by the artwork and the welcoming ambience is completed by the invitingly soft sofas in the lounge area. With the comfort of all their guests in mind, Nelitos also has a separate indoor smoking lounge. In the summer you can take full advantage of the fantastic Algarve evenings and dine outside on the garden terrace.
