Alicante Arroceria Restaurants

 Many restaurants specialise in the world-famous rice dishes, such as the many types of paella, from the quality rice grown on the Costa Blanca.  Specialist rice restaurants called arrocerias will serve the great variety.

Take your pick from a plethora of paellas featuring Valencian rice or Bomba rice with vegetables, meat, fish or shellfish. You will be amazed at the number of paellas on the menu.

Many will also serve the local fideua, which originated in Gandia on the Costa Blanca, which is paella served with noodles instead of rice.

You could also try a number of other regional rice dishes such as arroz al horno (with meat or fish), arroz a banda (with fish), arroz del senyoret (with shellfish) or arroz negro (with squid ink)
