My Destination

Self confessed travel addict Simon has a huge passion for travel, adventure and exploring the most exciting destinations of the world. He previously lived, worked and studied in The Netherlands, Thailand, Goa and Turkey’s Aegean Coast.

In the year before becoming the local expert for Amsterdam he gave up his job and house and jumped on his bicycle to cycle more than 4000km from Amsterdam to Turkey crossing 13 different countries. After a few saddle soars he decided to swap the bicycle for a backpack to travel the Indian subcontinent and Central America.
 
There was never any doubt in his mind that Amsterdam was the place to settle and he was extremely excited and honored to take on the challenge of setting up the My Destination Amsterdam operation and creating the most up to date guide to the city. With an abundance of experience in marketing communication, the events industry and travel and tourism the Amsterdam team plan to show visitors to Amsterdam all the hidden gems on offer.
