Cannabis Cup Amsterdam 2014 (23 Nov 2014 - 27 Nov 2014)
From 23 Nov 2014 To 27 Nov 2014
Cannabis Cup Amsterdam 2014
With such liberal cannabis laws in Amsterdam, it should come as no surprise that the Mecca of marijuana should host the most preeminent cannabis festival in the world, The Cannabis Cup includes more than 400 coffee shops. The Cannabis cup will also have live music like blues and of course, reggae. The most important tip to remember at the event is that smoking isn’t the only way to consume weed.
The most awesome thing to do at the festival is to partake as a judge. The judges pass can be bought online or straight at the venue, but it will cost you more at the venue. There are some coffee shops which give out free samples in vapour bags, so you can vote for best blend. If you manage to remain on your feet, do check out the counterculture hall of fame induction ceremony. The inductees include people who have made a significant contribution to counterculture.
The judges pass entitles you to an all access pass to all the ceremonies, concerts and seminars. You will also get a free t-shirt, a program guide, free bus service to and from the venue, and of course, the right to vote. Most of the coffee shops are wheelchair friendly.
The Cannabis Cup was founded in 1987, by Steven Hagar, editor of High Times Magazine, as a way to promote the personal cultivation and use of cannabis. By the 6th Cup, he began to infuse counterculture spirituality into the event, using the famous time of 4:20 as a chief ceremonial event. In 1997, the Counterculture Hall of Fame was created to recognise those who helped shape the counterculture movement.
