The Melkweg located at Leidseplein in Amsterdam is one of the most popular nightlife venues and although recognized as one of the best places to boogie in the city, it's actually a cultural centre that caters to music, dance and theatre, film, photography and media art.

Mekweg in English is Milky Way and it actually has its name because the venue was originally a deserted dairy factory that has now been turned into an Amsterdam institution that everyone has been to or heard of. The Melkweg has 5 different halls and several small rooms where they holds everything from dance events with top DJ's to concerts of big international acts.
