 Blue Boat Company OverviewBook yourself a perch on the Blue Boat Company and set off for a boat tour across the many waterways and canals of Amsterdam, also known as the ‘Venice of the North’. Located in Stadhouderskade, the Blue Boat Company offers guided tours of the city, with their daytime cruise. Drinks and snacks can be bought on board during the tours. Also on offer as is an evening cruise during the summer months and the blue boat dinner cruise available on Saturdays all year round.
Canal Cruises and More
Blue Boat’s canal cruises take you on a 75 minute jaunt across the great concourse of Amsterdam’s canals and serpentine water routes. The cruise also involves a personalised audio system that provides a running commentary and factoids on passing sights. Each traveller is supplied with free headphones and can choose a preferred language to listen to the guiding system.
Ron and Nel Experience
Ron and Nel are your guides on the audio tour and inveterate Amsterdammers whose love for their city has only grown through the years. They take you on a 75-minute experience of Amsterdam, peppered with exhaustive knowledge, colourful anecdotes and witticisms revolving around their 60-year relationship with this city.
Opening Times, Location
In the summer season (April-September), Canal cruises depart every half hour, from 10 am till 6 pm. In the winters, cruises leave every hour from 10 am till 5 pm. Summers come with an open deck to enjoy the breeze and chirrupy sunshine. Winters include a comfy central heating system on-board.
The evening cruise departs daily (summer at 8, 9 & 10 PM & winter at 8 PM) and is 90 minutes with drinks and snacks sold on board.
The Blue Boat Dinner cruise is a 2 hours, 3 course all inclusive dinner cruise that departs every Saturday year round (in summers also on Fridays & Sundays)
The departure location is Stadhouderskade, opposite to Hard Rock Cafe.

We took the blue boat tour for the first time, though we have gone on cruises in this city before. I've been to Amsterdam once before but visited places like Brouwersgracht, Keizersgracht and Princengracht for the first time. We got close look at the Westerkerk and clicked some amazing hi-res snaps of the dusky skyline . The tour is for 70 minutes and wonderful during end of July.
