The Antalya Coast may extend for 600 km of coastline, but it generally runs from west to east in the same band of latitude, so there is little variation in the weather which the area experiences. The main difference is where one travels away from the coast into the soaring Taurus mountains and mountain meadows. These heights are fresh and cooling in summer, while snow falls abundantly on the peaks in winter, offering a unique chance for visitors to ski at the small but developed ski resort of Saklikent with ski runs between 1850-2547m.

The Taurus mountains exerts a famously benign effect on the coastal towns and plains of the Antalya Coast, sheltering them from winter winds, while they face the sunny South.
