Prytaneion Overview

In ancient Athens PRYTANEION was the site where the citizens, whose actions were really significant for the city, were eating for all upon decision of the Ecclesia. For instance, in honor of the Olympic champions, apart from breaking down the walls of the walls of the city, a special place in the PRYTANEION was also provided to them.

It is said that arts along with cuisine flourish where advancernent and civilization exist.

This alive and bidirectional relation between art and everyday life served to establish, in the best possible way, PRYTANEION which offers a new and totally different aspect of quality delight from that we were used so far. An aspect where art and gastronomy coexist and complement one another in the same site, in an ambience of strong visual character.

The total aesthetical aspect, the artistic choises, the composite and varied functionality of a place that can cover every small enjoyment of everyday life: a coffee or a light meal, or the more requiring recipes of a plentiful and imaginative Mediterranean cuisine, in endless savoury variations. It is a fact that civilization and taste usually go hand in hand and that they consist the two sides of the same coin.

KOLONAKI

The fabulous two-storey neoclassic building, constructed in the early 20th century by the architect Balanos -one of the first restorers of Parthenon - is located on the pedestrian walkway of Milioni Street.

The building came to the possession of various owners until becoming property of the ILIOPOULOS family which gentrified it and gave to the building its current form.

The restaurant operates on three levels decorated with pieces of famous Greek artists sush as Gaitis, Fassianos, Kaniaris and Koustas under the artistic supervision of Eleni Vernadaki.

A combination of stone and wood dominates in the earth-colored interior, while getting the pulse of the city from the pedestrian walkway of Milioni Street.

KEFALARI

Following the successful progress of the restaurant in Kolonaki, the ILIOPOULOS family successfully established a PRYTANEION restaurant in the north suburbs of Athens as well.

The PRYTANEION restaurant is located at Kefalari square, across Sotiros church, in an all green environment.

The minimalistic architecture and the modern decoration by Eleni Vernadaki is enriched with pieces of famous Greek artists such as Moralis, Pavlos, Gaitis and Simossis as well as a lot of her own creations.

The PRYTANEION restaurant located at Kefalari is a cozy complex: the restaurant with a view to the nature (ideal for business lunches), the bar with louder music, the lounge offering the possibility to relax on the comfortable sofas and finally the prive site (ideal for business/private meetings). In the summer, the place becomes open by means of high technology and is equipped with water-mists.

GOLDEN HALL

In the heart of the new international and state-of-the-art mall, beats “PRYTANEION GOLD” . In the center of the 2^nd floor of the super lux Golden Hall,comprising 130 shops, PRYTANEION GOLD is a point of reference.

Works of the most famous designers such as Marshall Wanders's oversized lighting fixtures (Prytaneion Gold's trade mark) Phillip Stark's mirrors and Bass's burned wooden chandeliers,steal the shop.

Nikos Papanoussis is the Architect who did the interior design,creating a subversively minimal and luxurious space. The earthy glamour of the 24 carat gold,shiny black crystals, the Italian ebony and casual cement mortar, give us a luxurious and subtly ironic scene. Cinema lights shed their light to every-day protagonists.

The PRYTANEION restaurant with the chef Fotis Koutantos, offers a menu with Mediterranean dishes using the most pure ingredients and original products picked by selected places in Greece, Italy and other countries.

The pasta is homemade, the fish originate from the Aegean Sea and the shellfish of the day come from the restaurant's personal diver. The totally fresh desserts are made by the restaurant's Italian confectioner.

The catalogue includes a menu of a great variety of pasta, alive seafood, selected meat and organic salads while the plentiful wine list is selected among Greek, Italian and French best wineries.

Opening Times:
