Puhoi River Kayak Hire offers a tranquil and flexible canoeing option for those who want to have a quiet, leisurely paddle on the water. You don't have to worry about rapids or fast-flowing currents, as the serene Puhoi River likes to take it just as easy as you do.

Based in the pretty and historic Bohemian village of Puhoi, enjoy the stunning 8km trip up to Wenderholm Regional Park. Alternatively, extend your journey by a few more kilometers and further explore this spectacular rural landscape and mangrove forest.

Your professional and friendly instructor will give you a detailed briefing on safety, how to paddle the kayak (most important!),  and a full explanation of the river map and meeting details.   You will then be set up in your kayak making sure you are both comfortable and competent and set off on your own unguided kayak adventure meandering down this historic waterway at your leisurely pace.

This is a beautiful, self-guided two-hour trip through some of the North Island's most fetching landscapes. At the end of your journey, a courtesy van will be waiting to bring you back to base.

If time is an issue, you can also hire kayaks by the hour. So if you fancy a quick paddle through the village, or prefer to get a feel for the experience before embarking on the full journey, this is the perfect option.
