Housed in a glorious bamboo structure overlooking a landscape of endless rice paddies, live bamboo and lily ponds, Sardine Restaurant in Petitenget perfectly in keeps with old Bali and provides simplistic pleasures. The bamboo creates a structure that is not only beautiful, but environmentally beneficial, whilst the rice paddies are carefully tended to daily by local farmers, making Sardine the ideal restaurant to catch the perfect sunset.
After falling in love with the island of Bali on holiday, owners Pascal and Pika decided to stay and set up Sardine providing delicious fresh foods and beverages. The ‘cuisine du soleil’ is tasty, healthy and yet light enough to suit the hot climates of Bali. Using only fresh seafood and homegrown organic vegetables, Sardine’s dishes change from day to day based on the catch from the daily early morning trip to the fishing village of Jimbaran. The vegetables and herbs are grown in their own organic vegetable garden in the mountain village of Bedugul, making the food on offer at Sardine delectably garden-fresh.
