My Destination is focused on offering unrivalled levels of local information. This is what we pride ourselves on, and it's our promise to our users.

Therefore, each destination is run by a team on the ground who have their fingers on the pulse and write from a first-hand experience, whether they are trying out places to eat, visiting sites of interest, undertaking activities, exploring hidden 'secrets', and speaking to the locals who are 'in-the-know'. Our local experts take every effort to accurately capture this information through photography, videos, virtual tours and writings. It can be truly said that our content is fresh, local and 'hand-made'.

Our Local Experts in Barcelona

After finishing her business studies course Núria decided to spend a year in Germany to discover living somewhere besides Barcelona, the city she was born, grew up in and always returns to. Learning about German culture, its people, food, and places confirmed what she had always suspected, that her favourite hobby is traveling. She had the bug and so for several years after Germany she travelled all around the world discovering new things and hopes to continue doing so for years to come.

Back in Barcelona Núria completed an MBA and began working for various companies. Finally, after ten years working as the purchasing manager for a multinational company in the industrial sector, she was thrown the chance and the challenge with My Destination to turn her hobby into her job.

Michael was born in the cold but green north of Germany, and after many years in Trier, where he and Núria first met, he is more than happy to have Barcelona as his personal destination.

Michael has many years of experience in the industrial sector, specializing in electrical engineering and for the last twenty years he has been working in the cash automation sector. My Destination has therefore been a complete change and has given him the opportunity to discover the unique hotspots of Barcelona and to showcase them to the world.

Michael has been passionate about sports all his life and he started playing handball at a very young age. He then progressed to other sports and cycling has become his favourite hobby since then and he has participated in many bike races and marathons. Travelling, whether for pleasure or work, has been one of his favourite hobbies and he has had the opportunity to visit many places in the world, so much so that with My Destination he now feels as though he is traveling non-stop!

“We believe that if we don’t travel we can’t appreciate the good things in our lives. When we get back to Barcelona off a trip, it doesn’t matter if we’ve been in a small rural village or a large cosmopolitan city, we feel that we become more objective about things. We can also stand back and be critical, as we can see the disadvantages of a big city, but at the same time we can value the simpler and smaller things and those little things are the gems that make Barcelona so attractive and exceptional”.

Núria and Michael also run the My Destination Costa Brava site and are extremely happy to be able to show everybody the huge variety of things that this region offers, such as its stunning coastline, coloured landscape, ancient culture and traditions, world renowned gastronomy, fabulous weather, the language and so many other things!
