Barcelona operates an ‘Integrated Transport’ ticketing system. This is a very helpful feature which basically means the following;
When you buy an integrated ticket, you can use it on the Metro, FGC, RENFE Trains (Zone 1) Trams and Buses!
Let’s take a look at some of the most useful tickets;

Nice and simple, this is the ticket you need for one single journey on the Barcelona Metro and it will cost you €1,45 (As of Jan 2011).
Ways to Purchase the Bitllet Senzíll Metro Ticket:

The Bitllet Senzíll (Single Journey TMB BUS Ticket):
This ticket will give you one journey on a Barcelona TMB bus and it will cost you €1,45 (As of Jan 2011).

N.B. Both Bitllet Senzíll tickets are for use on their respective transport methods only. The following tickets fully integrate your usage of transport;

This is the most popular ticket amongst people who will be using the Barcelona Transport System a few times during the space of a week or so.
It Gives You:
10 Full Journeys on all integrated transport in Barcelona from zones 1 – 6.
N.B. If you jump on the Metro for example, and then take a bus from outside your destination station within an hour… It will still count as just one journey.
The T-10 ticket is also permitted for multi-person use. This is to say that if you and a friend want to use the same ticket at the same station, it is perfectly acceptable to hand the ticket back to them. However this will result in ‘two journeys used’. The T-10 Ticket will not expire until the next fare revision date (January Annual).
Cost: From €8,25 (As of Jan 2011).
Ways to purchase the T-10:

It Gives You:
Unlimited journeys for one full day only in zones 1-6 from the time of first use, until the transport system has closed.
N.B. this ticket is for single-person usage. You may not transfer it to another person.
Cost: From €6, 20 (As of Jan 2011).
Ways to purchase the T-Dia:

They Give You:
Unlimited journeys for the amount of consecutive days purchased from the date of first usage on all of Barcelona’s integrated transport system.
N.B. These tickets are for single-person usage. You may not transfer them to another person.
Cost:
2 Days: €11, 50 (As of Jan 2011).
3 Days: €16, 50 (As of Jan 2011).
4 Days: €21, 00 (As of Jan 2011).
5 Days: €25, 00 (As of Jan 2011).
