Barcelona El-Prat International is Spain’s second largest airport after Madrid’s ‘Barajas’ airport. It is also the 10th largest airport in Europe with over 25 million passengers passing through its terminals every year! Barcelona El-Prat International Airport operates with 3 live runways and it is possible to travel all over the world from this bustling, global air-transport hub. Some routes will require a connecting flight change in London for example, however this is something the authorities are under increasing pressure to resolve as the airport expands, and aims to rise up the ranks in terms of passenger volume across the world.
There are currently two terminals at El-Prat which are T1 and T2. The second terminal (T1) was only added to the airport in 2009. Whilst complimenting the services offered by El-Prat, T1 is also a pretty fantastic looking structure both inside and out. You will come to learn that architectural design in Barcelona is never something to be taken lightly!
T2 is the older terminal and is dedicated for the most part to Domestic and European budget airlines such as EasyJet and RyanAir. T2 is designated into areas A, B and C. When using public transport to travel back to the airport to catch your flight out of Barcelona, be sure to use the correct service for the corresponding terminal building.
