Torba

Torba is one of the more well-known resorts of the Bodrum Peninsula. In the winter time, it more or less grinds to a halt however in the summer time, it is a bustling destination that is a favorite choice for many foreigners and Turks. Its popularity could be down to its scenic views. The coastline is blue with sandy beaches while the hills are covered with sweet smelling herbs and olive trees. The rural ambience is quite addictive due to the relaxed and carefree days that the locals like to promote. 

 

Where is Torba and how to get there?

It is on the northern shores of the Bodrum peninsula. The distance from Bodrum center to Torba is 5km and takes 20 minutes to reach by local transport. From Bodrum airport, Torba can be reached by following the Bodrum-Milas road and then continuing along the D330. From there, the centre of Torba is well sign posted.

  • Cruise boats leave from the sea front every day to explore the beautiful surrounding bays. 
  • If one day, is not enough for you, spend four days on a traditional Blue voyage cruise
  • Marvel at the old Byzantine monastery which stands on the east side of the bay.
  • Visit the preserved structure built by the Lelegians more than 2500 years ago.
  • Spend a day relaxing and soaking up the rays of the sun on the pebbly and sandy beaches.

Weather 

Winter time in Torba is relatively quiet due to the large amounts of rainfall that the area receives. In April, the weather starts to warm up eventually reaching the high 30s in the height of summer in August and September. Nightlife and Eating Out

Eating out at night time is done in the upmarket and candle lit restaurants on the sea front. They serve a variety of foods from pizzas to salads but their specialties are the traditional Turkish mezes and fresh fish of the day. Those that want to party till the early hours should head to Bodrum town as the nightlife in Torba is about relaxation and enjoy a crisp bottle of cold wine with friends.
