Turkish Living On the Aegean Coast

If you are someone who dreams of packing in the rat race and running off to a life in the sun, thenTurkey may just be the ideal destination for you. It is a country that is so culturally rich and vibrant but also relaxed and laid back. Many people have already made the move and settled in Turkey full time so with this in mind, we have put together a list of the most popular areas for foreigners to adopt the Turkish living lifestyle.

Bodrum

This huge resort has seen many foreigners buying property after they have fell in love with the blue seas, cobbled streets and the appearance of modern looks combined with old rustic charm. The centre of Bodrum plays host to one of Turkey’s most famous marinas and at times, this means the rich and famous dock in to experience the carefree vibes and atmosphere. If a large holiday resort is not your idea of a great location to relocate to, then look at the neighboring smaller resorts of Bodrum such as Yalikavak or Turgutreis.

Altinkum

This small resort has attracted many foreigners purely because of the cheap property prices which are like this because the infra-structure is still in the process of being developed. The name Altinkum is translated into the Turkish meaning of golden sands and it is easy to see why the resort got this name as there are three gorgeous beaches which run from one end of the town to the other.  While some ex-pats have given it the nickname of Little Britain, there is still the local area which plays host to Traditional Turkish restaurants and shops.

Fethiye

The resort is known for its beauty and elegant character. The area is close to some of Turkey’s most natural sights of beauty including Iztuzu beach and Dalyan River. The beauty and close distance to these locations attracts thousands of foreigners every year that set up home in Fethiye and use it as a base to explore the neighboring resorts of Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and Kalkan. The area also provides wonderful opportunities for people to pass the time such as taking up watersports, paragliding as a hobby or exploring the many miles of walking treks through the countryside.

Marmaris

This resort is surrounded by green pines trees which cascade down the hill to bring visitors to the glory of the Mediterranean coastlineMarmaris is perhaps one of the more well-known destinations in Turkey and it provides everything for anyone. From the cheap and cheerful for those who are looking to live a simple life to the luxurious and extravagant for those who are looking for comfort and style in their later years. Spend your days tending your yacht in the marina or exploring the neighboring resorts of Icmeler and Turunc.

Kusadasi

Our last resort which has been a popular choice for those looking to relocate to Turkey is Kusadasi. This destination sees some of the biggest cruise liners in the world, docking into its port so that cruise guests can explore the nearby historical attraction of Ephesus. The resort is a mixture of cosmopolitan dining and cobbled streets full of traditional local stores. Days of the week fly by very quickly in Kusadasi as there are lots to do and many places to see. Don’t forget the fantastic friends you will make and your life in the sun will no longer be a dream.
