![]() Château Fourcas Dupré OverviewChâteau Fourcas Dupré dates back to 1843 and its 46 hectares of planted vines are located between Moulis and Saint Julien in the Listrac-Médoc appellation - often referred to as the “roof of the Médoc”. The Châteaux is perfectly situated to take advantage of soil, excellent drainage and wind protection which allow the grapes to ripen slowly and with quality. The exceptional soil with gravel from the Pyrenees has a huge influence on quality and quantity of the grapes produced here. You might say it’s an ice age effect.
The Château’s first wines keep from 5 to 25 years and are made from 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine of Château Fourcas Dupré has been described as rich, luscious and almost Margaux-like. Perhaps their geographical position gives them an edge because they are in Listrac.
Château Fourcas Dupré welcomes visitors and although a high tech operation, they have maintained their old cellars and wooden two-tiered vats dating back to 1843 for visitors to appreciate the past.
