The atmosphere in this busy little restaurant is relaxed and welcoming. The waiting staff are efficient, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. In the evening the menu offers a tempting array of modern European dishes, with plenty of choice for both carnivores and vegetarians.

If you are finding it hard to choose, and feeling flush, the tasting menu is a great way to sample a range of the food. For a set price you can feast on 7 courses which, on my recent visit, included:

Roasted cauliflower soup with fried chorizo.

Mushroom and confit celeriac terrine.

Venison carpaccio, parsnip and hazelnut remoulade with roasted pears.

Fillet of beef with roasted squash risotto.

Triple chocolate brownie with blood orange sorbet. Cheese, coffee and truffles.

To accompany this wonderful feast you can order the "wine flight" - a different glass of wine with each course!

If you don't think you can manage this veritable feast, you can choose from two and three course menus at special prices. cheaper Monday to thursday than friday and Saturday eveningsf

During the day you can drop in for coffee and cake, a sandwich or panini, or a full lunch. They also offer a reasonably priced Sunday lunch. There is an outdoor terrace for sunny days.
