Painter's Lodge

Painter’s Lodge is a premier fishing resort situated on the shore of Vancouver Island's Discovery Passage, just outside Campbell River. Guests of Painter's Lodge have world class BC salmon fishing, wildlife adventure and nature tours at their fingertips, as well as customized packages which can also include golfing or spa services. The handsome lodge itself is West Coast influenced in its design, with a variety of options for accommodation to welcome families, couples, business travellers, and pet owners.

Fishing at Painter’s Lodge is suitable for both seasoned and novice anglers looking to hunt the local waters for Chinook, Coho, Pink, and Chum––and of course, the enviable and elusive Tyee, a salmon weighing in at over 30lbs. Upon request, Painter's Lodge provides the required equipment and fishing guides who are experts at BC salmon fishing and know all the best biting spots.

Painter's Lodge Accommodation

Painter's Lodge features a variety of rooms (double or quad), cabins, and suites which cater to everyone from the romantic couple looking for a getaway, to adventure seeking families, larger groups of fishing buddies, or business group retreats. Furnished in a relaxed, west-coast style––picture wood paneling, coastal art, and a warm palette––guests have a choice of a garden or ocean-view. Deluxe VIP suites are also available. Art enthusiasts will enjoy The Artist Signature Rooms, a selection of suites dedicated to standout Canadian artists who attended the renowned Painters at Painter's annual celebration, including Ted Harrison, Suzanne Northcott, and Fenwick Lansdowne. All rooms are equipped with TV, phone, tub and shower.

Painter's Lodge Facilities

Painter's Lodge's piece de resistance, Legends Dining Room, serves fresh West Coast and Continental cuisine in a relaxed, oceanfront setting. Locally grown produce, just-caught seafood and regional wines welcome anglers and adventurers after a tiring day's play. The Sunday Brunch at Legends is popular among tourists and residents alike, so reservations are recommended. Also located on the premises, the Tyee Pub is the go-to spot for a crisp cold pint and a hearty meal post-catch. Guests of Painter's Lodge are also invited to enjoy the Dining Room at April Point Resort, located a short water-shuttle ride away on scenic Quadra Island.

Painter's Lodge Location

Guests of the Painter’s Lodge have full access to the Aveda Concept Spa at April Point Resort & Spa. The Japanese inspired spa offers unique packages customized with hydrotherapy, massage, manicures, facials, and body wraps. The facilities at Painter's Lodge include an outdoor pool and tennis courts. Complimentary child care is available in the children’s room, which is stocked with books, games and videos. Additionally, every Painter’s Lodge guest has full access to the nearby April Point Resort & Spa and all its amenities. Transportation between the two sister resorts is provided via complimentary water shuttle and takes about ten minutes. The grounds and facilities at Painter's Lodge are available for private bookings, including weddings, conventions, and other special events. All guests have WiFi access at the Lodge.

Painter's Lodge hosts a number of annual fishing derbies and events at various times throughout the year, including a Spring Fling Salmon Derby, a Women's Derby, an August Heat Derby, Octoberfish Salmon Derby, and of course, the famous Painters at Painter's event which brings Canada's finest artists together for a weekend of creativity and celebration.
