![]() Evolution Lodge OverviewGuests at Evolution won’t take long to understand why this hotel chose the name it did. “A modern take on mountain lodging,” Evolution is comfort, style, sophistication, trendiness, versatility and relaxation all wrapped into one luxe package located in Whistler Creekside—or how is it more colloquially known, Whistler Creek. About two hours north of Vancouver, Whistler Creekside is known as the laid-back alternative to the nearby Whistler Village, and it is the original base of Whistler Mountain, which first opened to the public in 1966. Getting to Whistler Village is easy, too, with regular shuttles, taxis, and, of course, personal vehicles in which guests can drive to the village in five minutes. The Creekside Gondola is conveniently located close to Evolution as well. And, also interesting, is the fact that in addition to shops, restaurants, a grocery store, and a liquor store, Whistler Creek was home to the 2010 Winter Olympic alpine events. Evolution Lodge Rooms: No matter how guests choose to spend their days in the Whistler Creekside area, they can always rest assured that a warm and welcoming room at Evolution awaits them upon their return. Accommodation options at this chic and modern lodge include one- and two-bedroom suites, as well as one three-bedroom suite, and each boasts a full kitchen with high-end appliances, a dining area, a living area with a fireplace, a private balcony, and an in-suite washer and dryer. Maximum occupancy is four people in Evolution’s one-bedroom units, and these four guests will have the pleasure of one king bed, one sofa bed, air conditioning, central heating that’s individually controlled, cable TV, a DVD player, a coffee maker, a blender, a toaster, cutlery and china, a dishwasher, a fridge, an oven, a stove, a microwave, a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board, an MP3-compatible player and radio, deck/patio furniture, a direct-dial phone and voice mail, a separate shower, a soaker tub, and wireless Internet. The six-person two-bedroom units consist of the same amenities as the Evolution’s one-bedroom suites, but instead offer more space in the form of two king beds and one queen sofa bed. The three-bedroom suite differs in that it offers three king beds, one queen sofa bed, and has room for a maximum occupancy of eight. All rooms, however, provide (by request) cots with linen (for a fee) and playpens or cribs, as well as allow pets (also for a fee). Evolution Lodge Restaurants & Bars: Evolution doesn’t have an on-site restaurant or bar, but it fully encourages guests to use their kitchens, or explore the many restaurants in the area. Dusty’s Bar & BBQ is a particular local favourite that’s nearby, and is open for everything from an early-morning breakfast to a late-night drink. Evolution Lodge Facilities: Guests at Evolution should expect the best, and there’s no question of them getting it when the list of facilities and common amenities includes the following: 24-hour reception and security; a concierge desk; daily housekeeping; dry-cleaning/laundry services (for a fee); elevators; a fitness room; a eucalyptus steam room; a sauna; a games room; a media room that has two daily movie showings; a heated outdoor pool and two hot tubs that are open year-round; parking and visitor parking (both for a fee), taxi service; ski lockers; a ski room; and high chairs/booster seats available upon request. Being close to the local bus route as well as being located slope-side, which means being able to walk to the hills and lifts, doesn’t hurt, either! And in addition to the facilities described above, Evolution also has a conference centre that has staff at the ready to plan wedding receptions, family reunions, corporate retreats, and more. Groups of 10 to 160 people can be accommodated in Evolution’s event space, and the hotel’s planning specialists continually go above and beyond the basic necessities to work with their clients in providing anything from a continental breakfast to a fully catered five-star meal. |
