British Columbia Bring Your Own Wine - BYOW Restaurants

Bring Your Own Wine or BYOW is a term applied to restaurants in BC that offer patrons the option to bring their own bottle of wine to the restaurant to complement their meal.

Here is a list of restaurants in Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Whistler and other BC locations that offer the BYOW option to diners. There are three things you should know and ask the restaurant:

• While the average corkage fee restaurants in Vancouver may apply is around $20-25, it is always a good idea to enquire beforehand directly with each restaurant what their current corkage fee is as this can range from zero up to $60 per bottle.
• In addition, some restaurants limit the number of bottles of wine allowed, for example, one bottle per two people or one bottle per table—so do enquire from the restaurant if you have a large crowd or wish to bring more than one bottle of wine with you.
• A few restaurants may also stipulate that their BYOW option can only apply to a bottle of wine not already on their wine list—so do ask!
