Painter's Lodge Fishing & Marine Adventures

Located in rugged Campbell River, Vancouver Island, Painter's Lodge is a fishing and adventure resort specializing in all things outdoors. For anyone unfamiliar with the term, a Tyee is defined as a Chinook or Spring salmon that weighs 30lbs or more; catching one earns you a spot in the exclusive Tyee Club of British Columbia. Sport fishing in its purest form, Tyee Fishing at Painter's Lodge is done the traditional way, in non-motored row boats, among the pools at the mouth of the Campbell River. The season runs from late July until mid-September.

Climb aboard a Hurricane Zodiac and embark on a three-hour Campbell River Wildlife Tour through the Discovery Islands in search of black bears, seals, Pacific white-sided dolphins, sea lions, bald eagles, and herons. The beautiful Discovery Islands aren't just known for their wild animals, they also offer the rare opportunity to experience secluded lands and shores untouched by recent civilization.

From July to mid-September, Vancouver Island Whale Watching Tours follow the paths of coastal BC's transient and resident orca (killer whale) pods to Robson Bight and Telegraph Cove, the mammals' summertime gathering spots.
