Planning Your Trip to BC

My Destination

Planning a trip to any location can be an arduous task, but with a little forethought, you can have the vacation of a lifetime. British Columbia is the perfect destination for just such a trip. With its mild climate, exquisite scenery and incredible variety of destinations and activities, there’s literally something for everyone.

British Columbia is a vast province known for its breathtaking, rugged beauty and outdoor adventures. It is one of the most geographically and ethnically diverse regions in Canada and offers endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. BC is home to world-class skiing, mountain biking, golfing, wildlife tours, wineries and much, much more. No matter what time of year you plan to visit, you will have a multitude of things to do and cultural activities to choose from.

Outdoor recreation is a way of life in BC, so if you’re looking for a destination full of natural beauty with plenty to do in the great out-of-doors, BC is the place to be. Rest assured, however, BC is also home to some fantastic museums, galleries, restaurants, spas and shopping.  So, whether you’re interested in exploring some indoor or outdoor destinations, My Destination British Columbia has you covered.

Before You Go

Before you depart for your vacation, you’ll want to make sure you have everything you need in order to have a successful and enjoyable trip. Although it’s always fun to explore and not adhere to a schedule, you may want to plan a few destinations and activities prior to leaving for your holiday. There is also lot of information available about accommodations, events, weather, and we are glad to provide you with tips and destination information to inspire you.

First a few tips on:

Getting Around

Getting around by car and driving long distances is the way of life in Canada. If you plan to explore and do a lot of travelling within BC, renting a car is recommended. Though there are public transportation systems, they are not nearly as expansive as what you might find in many other countries, and the challenges in BC are marked by the mountainous topography and expansive waterways. In addition, BC is a vast province—much of which is wilderness—and travelling to different regions can take many hours or even days. Renting a car allows you to make your own schedule and is often less expensive than other modes of transportation. If you’re not planning on renting a car, however, there are other options for getting around, such as by bus and airplane.
