The Apartment

If you expect the Apartment to be just another mainstream café or restaurant you are in for a big surprise. Nope, this, dear friends, is the most alternative place in Sofia where you can hang around with friends or loved ones. Taste amazing home-cooked tidbits, try exotic ayurvedic drinks and enjoy all sorts of artistic events. That's what the Apartment is all about... or should we say A:part:mental?

The interior design of the Apartment is a patchwork of various styles and decorative elements. Each room flaunts vibrant colour patterns and is furnished with different sets of comfortable sofas, armchairs and traditional oriental low seats. The carpets covering the massive wooden floors and the paintings on the walls are 100% original and quite impressive too. Look around for the cosiest spot and make yourself at home. No one is going to bother you about using the free wi-fi, browsing on one of the Macs, or not having anything to eat or drink. But don't expect anyone to get your order either.

If you want something, you will have to pay the kitchen a visit and get it yourself. The lovely girl there will help you make your choice. Mind you, this is a place where the words 'nature, environment and organic products' actually mean something, so don't think she will hand you a bottle of coke and a cheeseburger. Instead, she will probably pour you a glass of freshly squeezed kiwi or pomegranate juice, a pint of Belgian Trappist beer or just a cup of refreshing tea. Grab a piece of delicious salty cake and some home-made chocolate treats and return to your snug spot. Then sit back, relax and relish your healthy dish while surrendering to the magical atmosphere of the Apartment.

This utopian café is hidden inside a large old building, with extremely high ceilings and crystal chandeliers on a quiet little street in the centre of the city. The best transport to get you there is your bicycle, so don't waste time, just put your helmet on and take this ride with us. You can leave your bike at the Parking sign in the lobby.

Clients often describe the Apartment as a genuine house of arts. Well, we can't agree more with them. The place hosts a wide range of cultural events, including literary readings, acoustic concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibitions and film screenings. And, believe us, they are unlike anything you have seen before.
