![]() Sheraton Cairo OverviewThe Sheraton Hotel, Towers and Casino is located on the west bank of the Nile River, within walking distance of the Egyptian Museum, the Opera House, and shopping districts. This very large luxury hotel, housed in adjoining towers, has its own casino. The property offers a luxury stay with lots of amenities, including on-site shops, a variety of restaurants, and a health club and spa. The hotel is 30 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the train station by car. Sheraton Cairo Rooms: The hotel has 650 luxury air-conditioned guest rooms, including 113 suites. The décor varies—some rooms are traditional in style, while others have a more modern design. The rooms have views of the city or of the Nile River. The rooms have satellite televisions with free movies; the Deluxe Rooms and Suites also have DVD players. High-speed internet access is available for an extra charge. The beds are made with 100% Egyptian cotton linens. An iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and an in-room safe are provided for guests’ convenience. The private bathrooms are equipped with bathrobes and luxury toiletries. Five of the floors are dedicated to non-smoking rooms and suites. Connecting rooms are available upon request. There is also an Executive Level of rooms. Sheraton Cairo Restaurants & Bars: There are several international dining options. The Aladin Restaurant features an Asian dinner menu and live entertainment. The Sapporo Teppanyaki restaurant serves Japanese delicacies for lunch, dinner, and late night snacks. The El Mawardy Asian restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. The airy, trellised Tea Garden is open 24 hours a day with an American menu, and often has live entertainment. The Café Complet deli is open until 2:00 a.m. The Z Pub serves drinks, and the Stiletto Lounge also offers an evening bar menu, served until 4:00 a.m. The La Mamma Restaurant, the Club Lounge, and the Arrous El Nil Restaurant are scheduled to be closed until the end of 2009 for renovations. Guests must be 18 years of age with a valid ID to drink alcohol on the premises. Sheraton Cairo Facilities: The 24-hour front desk and concierge staff can help with sightseeing and travel arrangements, and there is a travel agent and an airline desk on site. The Towers Lounge is a luxury retreat with classical antique-style furniture, where guests can enjoy snacks and drinks. There is an outdoor swimming pool known as “Le Mirage”, surrounded by sun loungers in a courtyard. There is also a children’s swimming pool. The Xanadu health club includes fitness equipment, a steam room, a whirlpool, and a spa offering massage treatments (charges apply). The hotel has a shopping arcade, a jewelry store, and a beauty salon. The hotel has eight meeting rooms for business and social events, ranging from a large elegant ballroom hung with crystal chandeliers to smaller boardrooms. Audio-visual equipment and high-speed internet access can be provided. The hotel has a full business centre with internet access (charges apply). Translation services can be provided. There is a dry cleaning and laundry service. Cribs are provided upon request at no additional charge; guests must provide their own bedding for the cribs.
