![]() Hout Bay Manor OverviewThe Hout Bay Manor has been offering accommodation in Hout Bay for nearly 140 years . A recent 18 month restoration and redecoration by famed South African interior designers Cécile and Boyd transformed Hout Bay Manor into one of Cape Town’s leading African accommodation experiences. And it now offers true African luxury and gracious hospitality.
The vibrant colours of South Africa are wonderfully expressed throughout The Hout Bay Manor. Often interior designers shy away from the big, “messy” colours of Africa. They choose single African items to add to a distinctly European room and then declare the room to be “African”. But not here. Alive with adventure and expression the décor incorporates the richness of the Cape and South African tribal culture in a splendid tribute.
The colonial Cape Dutch architecture is reflected in the rooms in the oversized antiqued clothes bureau and scatter cushions capture the local flora, the Cape Fynbos (“Fine Bush”). Add in African bead work, wonderful chandeliers and splashes of colourful expression. The Xhosa room, the Zulu room and the Sotho rooms – all have beadwork and décor that enhance the experience being happy on holiday in Africa.
Hout Bay Manor has recently added the Inzolo Wellness Suite where guests can indulge in a massage, facial or many other pampering therapy. Some of the treatments offered are – the ‘Hydra Boost Facial’, ‘For Men Only Facial’, which includes acupressure, manicures, pedicures or ‘Total Pureness’ which is an exfoliation and body polish. The creams, oils and lotions used have been blended from local plants which are selected for their unique healing and soothing benefits. Treatments include full day packages as well as 60 or 90 minutes beauty and body treatments lasting up to 120 minutes. Hout Bay Manor Rooms: There are 20 rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Some have free-standing baths, wooden floors and decorative chandeliers. The rooms are themed in the style of some of the tribes in South Africa.
There are 4 "Sotho Rooms” which are also double rooms with a private garden. There are 7 "Xhosa Rooms” upstairs offer mountain views while the 7 "Zulu Rooms” have views of the gardens and sparkling pool. The 2 "Sangoma Suites” offer 2 luxury rooms with an inter-leading door. This is a great option for families. The rooms have plasma screen televisions, DSTV Satellite, telephones, safes and air conditioning internet and wireless connection. Only the finest bed linen and towels are used and there are unforgettable touches like bath salts too. Hout Bay Manor Restaurants & Bars: Pure Restaurant is a beautiful gourmet restaurant attached to the Hotel. German Executive Chef Alex Mueller provides a culinary experience that is magnificent. The serenity and tranquillity of the restaurant is created through the clever use of light grey, cream, white and mirrors. Natural items such as coral and driftwood add wonderfully to the ornate glass chandelier and lifesize beaded lamps. The food also runs along these themes. New, expressive, natural and pure. Hout Bay Manor Facilities: Internet, Conference Room facilities with secretarial assistance, Security, Pure Restaurant, Bar, Free WiFi, Heated Pool, Library, Wine Cellar, Secure Parking, Heating and Air Conditioning. |

I visited Hout Bay Manor's Pure restaurant recently with a group of friends and it was simply the best experience not only a fantastic meal. You can tell the staff love working there and that makes a huge difference to the vibe of any hotel or restaurant. It certainly has the wow factor.
