![]() La Mouette OverviewLa Mouette, now one of Sea Point's most popular restaurants, opened its doors in 2010, and since then has attracted a large loyal following of foodies from around Cape Town. The grand Tudor-style house, once home to the Mayor of Cape Town, serves as the perfect setting to indulge in some of the Cape's most delectable food.
With its 5 fireplaces, 3 dining rooms, magnificent cobblestoned courtyard and Koi-filled fountain, La Mouette is elegant, spacious and has an impressive 150 person seating capacity. The team behind La Mouette, London Chef Henry Vigar, and South African entrepreneurs Gerrit Bruwer and Mari Vermaak, are all highly experienced and always on hand to chat to patrons and ensure that everything is running to absolute perfection.
Henry has worked in a number of Michelin starred establishments in the UK, Australia and France and brings to La Mouette a wealth of experience. He is committed to using only local suppliers for his ingredients and personally inspects and samples everything himself to ensure absolute quality. Henry has a particular passion for creating unique desserts and his signature after dinner delight is the ‘Gin and tonic’ - a combination of tonic jelly, juniper berry syrup and lime zest ice cream, which can't be missed
The menu offers patrons modern French cuisine with an international influence, and is complimented by top South African wines. In recent months, their 2 for 1 tasting menu special has offered some of the best fine dining prices in Cape Town, which allows you to sample a wide range of Henry's favourite dishes.
Take a look at the Autumn Tasting Menu Special, which changes regularly.

May 2011 The Best Dining Experience in Cape Town
Tony from Blouberg, Cape Town
Without a doubt, the dining experience at La Mouette surpasses all other. The setting is both homely and luxurious and every patron is treated special.
Chef Henry's food is amazing and the tasting menu provides excellent value for money. And whatever you do, you have to try the Cheese/Truffel Croquettes, they are divine.
Each room has a cosy fire-place, so this restaurant is perfect for rainy winters and provides an excellent escape from reality.
It has fast become my favourite restaurant in Cape Town - a real treasure!
