Bike and Saddle

Bike and Saddle offer a range of incredible cycling trips throughout Cape Town and outlying regions. Each of these trips are tailor-made and fully supported, and are a must-do when in the Mother City. They'll take you to various locations throughout the city on the back of their well-maintained and equipped mountain and road bicycles. There's no better way to experience a city than from the back of a bike, and Bike and Saddle offer tours unlike any other company in Cape Town. Township Cycle Tour

The township cycling tour takes you through the streets of the vibrant township of Khayelitsha, where you will engage with your surroundings in ways not possible in traditional tours. The cycling tour begins at the Velokhaya BMX Oval and Life Cycling Academy which gives children from this community a chance to be engaged after school hours, after which you'll meander through the winding streets of Khayelitsha, past shebeens (traditional pubs), street-side butcheries grilling up mountains of meat, local shopping centres and home-styled hair-dressers. You'll have the chance to sample local delicacies along the way, and stop in at a traditional healer. It's a full-sensory experience that will put you in touch with township life like no other tour.

Cycling Safari

This full day safari cycle tour through a private Cape Town game reserve puts you in touch with African wildlife just a few hours outside of the Mother City. An expert field ranger will guide you through the breathtaking Karoo landscape dotted with a variety of wildlife. Zebra, wildebeest, eland, gemsbok, ostrich and springbok are in abundance in the reserve, and being on a bicycle affords you the opportunity to get far more in touch with the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush. An optional addition to the trip is a full game drive through the Big Five reserve, which will get you up close to Africa's most famous wildlife.

Winelands Cycling Tour

Take a trip through the heart of the Constantia Winelands on the back of a bicycle. Bike & Saddle will lead you through some of the region's top wine estates, stopping in for regular tastings and getting a sense of the history and culture that characterises the region. The winelands cycling tour can be scheduled as a half-day trip, but for a real taste of the Constantia winelands, its gourmet food and world-class wine, we recommend taking the full-day option.

Cape Town @ Night, 3 hour City Heritage Cycle

The Cape Town @ Night cycle tour takes you on a 3 hour trip through the heart of Cape Town, past many of its top attractions and into the heart of the vibrant City Bowl suburbs. Expert guides offer fascinating insights along the way, as you cycle from the famous V&A Waterfront along Beach Road through to the Greenpoint Urban Park and Cape Town Stadium, before heading towards the CBD and the Company Gardens, before cycling back to the Waterfront via the Bo-Kaap.
