I really had some of the best times of the holiday in BLU bar

Best Hogmanay

Just back from a wonderful holiday in Santa maria, was looking for a warm friendly bar to spend hogmanay and found it at the Blu Bar. Felt like we had known Helen and Steve all our lives, made the children 9 & 13 very welcome giving them games to play with. All the staff excellent and very attentive. Had a terrific night and many more, carn't wait to go back in April first stop will be Blu Bar to friendly welcoming faces, like going home. Can't wait to see new bar at Vila Verde keep us a table!

We discovered Blu Bar on the third days of our three weeks in Santa Maria/Sal and loved it on first sight. We became regular customers and enjoyed every minute. Best caipirinhia this side of the atlantic

Great bar and really friendly staff. Ivan is very helpful if you need anything. The bar really does do the best caipirinhias I've tasted. We would go on our way back into town from the beach in the evening so would usually be pretty quite then which is ideal when you have an 11 month old with you. There was no problem having him and his pushchair in the bar as everyone is so child friendly in Santa Maria, he even hung out with some of the local dudes and was eyeing their beer enviously. If you have emails to do get a drink from blu and go two doors down to the Internet cafe to help speed your replies! Great bar and great prices. (Blu Bar, Cape Verde)

Blu Bar

Just off the main street in Santa Maria this is a great bar with live music most nights, a relaxed atmosphere, tasteful decor and fabulous cocktails, which are included in the daily happy hour. Definitely a place not to be missed when visiting Santa Maria.

Best bar by far

Feeling jaded one evening towards the end of our holiday we went out for a quiet drink and stumbled across the gem that is BLU bar. Atmosphere, cocktails,service and music all magical. We ended up staying to the very end, and that night is one of the abiding memories of our holiday.Fantastic

We were lucky enough to be on Sal when the very welcoming, friendly owners of Blu Bar were there with their friendly, attentive staff on hand. We spent many a good night drinking the great lager, wine and cocktails whilst listening to fantastic live music. If you are on Sal a visit to Blu Bar is a must :)

5* If you are in Santa Maria make sure you find and visit Blu Bar! Comfortable, very welcoming, lovely staff, fantastic music and scrummy cocktails. If you are lucky you will get to meet the delightful owners, who do everything to make sure you have a memorable night. The live music from Ricardo is amazing and creates a fantastic atmosphere.
