Leonardo Cafe situated just off the main tourist street of Santa Maria is one of the finest restaurants in Cape Verde offering delicious Italian cuisine with a Sardinian influences.

Alessandro your Italian host welcomes you with a glass of complimentary wine before explaining the delightful menu and offering suggestions. The menu is extensive and includes meat, fish and pasta dishes using the finest local ingredients. Alessandro will also be happy to advise you on the perfect wine to compliment your meal.

Home made ravioli, filled with fresh fish with prawns and green vegetables.

Grilled Brazilian Fillet steak on a bed of mushrooms and red port wine sauce

The interior an old house converted in to the restaurant is spacious and full of atmosphere, you will notice the sandstone walls and the high wooden beams. The classic bar area opens up to an intimate room, with immaculately laid tables in inviting corners, idea for a romantic meal.

The main dining room is beautifully decorated with romantic lighting and in the corner you have a delightful wooden staircase which takes you up to the first floor, where there is additional seating and also a private room and terrace available for large groups.

The new lounge bar has now been opened upstairs and is a beautiful location to enjoy a cocktail and sample some of the fine wines on offer.
