Cappadocia Weather

Due to its geographical location, the weather in Cappadocia is unique and diverse from morning through to the night time. Ideal times of the year to visit are from March till June and September to November, when the weather in Cappadocia is experiencing its autumn and spring seasons.

The spring season will experience a small amount of rainfall however it is not enough to hamper any sight-seeing excursions as rainfall periods are short and normally do not last longer than a couple of hours.

For comfort, if you are visiting at this time of year, you may want to take along an umbrella and water tight shoes. During spring and autumn, it is also advisable to pack a jumper or coat to ward off the cold temperatures that will occur in the evening and at night times.

Due to the fact that most activities in Cappadocia are outdoors, it is important to know that at the height of the summer season, temperatures can reach as high as 40 degree Celsius and although the humidity is quite low, this can still make exploring during the day uncomfortable and an arduous task.  The good news is that the structure of the cave hotels makes evening and night times cooler than if you were staying in a conventional hotel.

The weather in Cappadocia in winter time does not ward off visitors either.  Trekkers and hikers will head to the snow covered fairy chimneys to experience Cappadocia at a time, when it is completely different to how the guide books portray it. Be aware that if you are visiting in winter time, activities such as the hot air balloon trips may not be available.
