July 2010 Good location; unsuitable slopes for camping; good facilities; rude owner
Jonathan Giles from UK
This was a pleasant campsite in a beautiful location, but with few flat areas suitable for camping. Camper-vans with stabilisation blocks should be able to use most of the slopes.
The washing facilities were good, though the segregation between different types of washing (i.e. face, dishes, clothes) didn't entirely make sense, (there was no cold water in the face washing / teeth brushing area). The showers are warm if you arrive before the busy periods. The men's toilets contained six urinals, but only standing room for four!? The 'relaxation room' is (to put it kindly) sparsely decorated.
Unfortunately, the campsite is blighted by a rude owner: When we arrived, the office staff told us to pitch our tent wherever we liked. However, once we had finished setting up, the irritable manager approached and (without a hint of apology) told us we had to move. Several hours later, the manager offered a newly arrived family the choice between our old spot and another; our old spot ended up as their social / eating area... The excuse for this was that some areas are designated for big tents and others for small tents. It's a shame they haven't found a way of ensuring that customers are aware of their status and their consequent camping options, or of resolving such situations a little more respectfully.
