Saint Gervais is a popular place for people who are looking for a cheaper alternative to Megeve or Chamonix. There are quite a few (mostly traditional) restaurants, hardly any decent nightlife, but the main attraction of the town is its wonderful spa where you can get health and beauty treatments. The slopes of the St Gervais area are mainly for beginners and intermediates with lots of blue and red runs, which makes about 65 km of piste. Most of the slopes are surrounded by trees, and there are lots of charming mountain chalets and restaurants to be found. St Gervais is interlinked with Megeve and St. Nicholas de Veroce, which means you have access to a much bigger ski area, especially with the Evation Ski pass which also gives you access to Combloux, La Giettaz, and Les Contamines. From St Gervais you can access the snow park at the Mont Joux and ski all the way down into the town of Megeve (although the way back is an off-piste run) or take the Tramway du Mont Blanc to go skiing in Les Houches.
