Chamonix is easy to reach by car, and there are about 3800 car parking spaces in and around town. Most on street car parking near the centre of Chamonix is on a pay and display basis. In the main barriered car parks (both underground and overground) parking is free for the first 30mins or one hour.

Grépon	700 places, close to Aiguille du Midi lift station
Allobroges	Next to the Mercure hotel and the main train station

Paid covered car parks

Parking Saint-Michel	Allée Recteur Payot, for town centre, tourist office, Espace Tiarraz, ski school meeting point, Maison de la Montagne - free for first hour
Parking Place du Mont Blanc	Avenue du Mont Blanc, for sports centre, ice rink, town centre, Saturday market - free for first hour
Parking Entreves	Chamonix Sud, for bowling alley, town centre, Aiguille du Midi lift station

For Chamonix ski lift area car parks - it's free to park at Vallorcine, Le Tour, Les Grands Montets, La Flegere and Prarion in Les Houches. Brevent car park is a multi storey and costs 1.5€ per hour, which on top of the price of the lift price is more than a little cheeky if you ask us!
