Shannon Ferry provides quick 20-minute ferry-hops across the Shannon Estuary. The service operates every hour on the hour from Killimer and every hour on the half hour from Tarbert with additional half hourly sailings in high season. Ferries run every day of the year (except Christmas Day) from 7am to 9:30pm Monday - Saturday, and from 9am to 9.30pm on Sundays (high season) and from 7am to 7:30pm Monday - Saturday, and from 9am to 7.30pm on Sundays (low season).

A number of ticket options are available, depending on your circumstances. No reservation is necessary as fares are payable on board, but reduced fares are available if you buy online in advance at www.shannonferries.com. Foot passenger tickets will cost approximately €4.50 online and vehicle tickets (inc. passengers) start from around €16.20 online with multi-trip saver deals available. Each ferry can carry all types of vehicles, including cars, coaches, caravans, commercial vehicles, motorcycles and foot passengers.

Tea coffee and snacks are available on board and if you are departing from the Clare side you can take advantage of the Visitor Center and Coffee Shop. There is also a picnic area where you can relax, enjoy the view and wait for the next crossing. There are spectacular views from the ferry as you cross and if you are lucky you will spot some of the many bottle-nosed Dolphins that are resident in the Shannon Estuary.

Whether on holidays or just doing a days work Shannon Ferry can save you up to one and a half hours on the trip. If on holidays there are many attractions on both sides of the estuary. In County Clare you can visit the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren,, Doolin, Lahinch and the medieval town of Ennis along with The Loophead Peninsula and many more attractions.

When travelling to Kerry you can take in Ballybunion, Lisowel, Tralee, Dingle, Killarney, The Lakes and The Ring of Kerry. Both counties are blessed with beautiful scenery and for the golfers some of the best courses in the country.
