Before you know, you will be a member of the local community, and will enjoy the generous Cypriot hospitality that can be summed up in a single word, "kopiaste"… come and join us!
CYPRUS VILLAGES was established in 1987 by Sofronis Potamitis, in an effort to revive rural communities and preserve the traditional houses of bygone days. With loving care, several abandoned family houses in the villages of Tochni, Kalavasos and Psematismenos were thoroughly renovated to provide comfort without sacrificing their original, rustic character and are all licensed by the Cyprus Tourism Organization. The villages are situated halfway between Larnaca and Lemesos towns and only 7km to the beach.
CYPRUS VILLAGES offers you a choice of 1 and 2-bedroom apartments with self-catering facilities in a well-equipped kitchenette, and central heating/air-conditioning and access to shared pool. Notice the thick walls, small windows, stone or wooden staircases so typical of the island’s architecture of yesteryear. On your veranda, in your patio or garden you can relax with a drink or a book any time of the day. In every village a swimming pool with sun beds is always within easy reach and reserved for guests.
Tochni, a small and picturesque village, lies between Larnaca and Limassol. Set on the slopes of two hills, its stone-built houses line the narrow streets that wind their way to the beautiful church of Constantinos and Eleni. Centrally located and close to the sea (7km) an ideal spot for those who are planning a holiday that combines relaxation on the beach with day tours to explore the whole island. Tochni guests are booked on b/b basis or h/b basis.
A local supermarket, coffee shops and a bank mark the village square. The CYPRUS VILLAGES reception and the Tochni Tavern by the pool offer a panoramic view of the whole village, the serene countryside and the pristine sea below.
Kalavasos is one of Tochni’s neighbouring villages, only 3 km away. The attractive village square is a place where residents and visitors meet & mix for a friendly chat, a drink in one of the cafenions, or a meal in one of the traditional taverns. During the day, a swimming pool awaits guests, and in the evenings, the stone-paved roads and mild temperatures will tempt you to stroll under the stars. Just outside Kalavasos, a family-run horse farm is worth a visit, and offers you the opportunity to explore the nature trails in the region on horseback.
Also a neighbour village and only a 3-minute’s drive from the sea, Psematismenos is another small village that appears like a flashback in time, while providing the convenience of a local church, a mini market, a bank and a local tavern. Psematismenos is also close to Zygi, a fishing village, which is widely known for its numerous fish taverns that attract discerning patrons from the whole region.
