Pafos Bird and Animal Park OverviewPafos Bird and Animal park is truly magical. The award winning attraction, this park is a pioneering project offering you over 100,000 sq.m. in an unspoiled natural environment. The park is now home to more than 170 different bird species and a whole host of animal residents, ranging from rabbits to giraffes. There are tortoises of all sizes, kangaroos, ponies, deer and crocodiles. There are many animals but the biggest 'star' at the park is the pure white baby albino wallaby that was born in June 2009. He is extra special as he was born to two brown coloured adults and is one of only four albino wallabies born in captivity in the world.
The park includes an ampitheatre that can accomodate 350 people aiming at hosting educational talks and programmes and showing wildlife documentaries.
The park's veterinary clinic is responsible for the treatment and nursing of the animals that are accomodated in the park. It is well equipped and includes an opperating theater and endoscopy unit for the performance of delicate opperations in exotic species and birds. The clinic is oppened to the public for the treatment of private exotic species and birds every Wednesday afternoon. Appointment mecessary.
Make a stop at the souvenir shop where you can take home that special momento of your day: T-shirts, mugs, magnets, pottery and artwork. If the children get bored spoil them at the children's playground. Let them get close and personal with bunny rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks and goats.
Keeping up with the Cyprus tradition, in the handicraft shop you can experience live the making of traditional rugs on the rare old weaving machine. Come in and have a look and learn the wonderful process of this dying tradition. The shop also has traditional baskets, which were used in the older times for transportation of the locals produce and are still used today.

September 2011 Terrible conditions - animal torture!

There are horrbile conditions for the animals. They are in small enclosures with no shade and water. This is animal torture! Please don't support the park by visiting it.
