Downtown Dubai Information

Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa is a brand new upscale area of 500 acre (2,02 sq.km.) mixed-use community combining commercial, residential, hotel, entertainment, shopping and leisure facilities in open green spaces with lakes and fountains. It is an inspired urban concept, which reconfirms Dubai’s status as a global player. Giving the world a new point of reference, the plan provides the answer to modern city living.

Located at its center is Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world. At 828 metres (2,716 feet) and more than 160 stories, Burj Khalifa holds the following records:

The Address Hotel

The Dubai Fountain

This is a world-class water, light and music spectacle. Located near Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall.

Facts:

•  At over 900 ft (275 metres) in length – equivalent to that of over two football fields – The Dubai Fountain is about  1/4 larger     than The Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas

•  Powerful water nozzles shoot water sprays to heights of over 500 ft (150 metres) – equivalent to that of a 50-storey building

•  Over 6,600 lights and 50 colour projectors create a visual spectrum of over 1,000 different water expressions 

•  The Dubai Fountain, when operational in all its glory, has over 22,000 gallons of water in the air at any given moment. Its   nozzles take water to different heights – from 70 to 500 ft. The 50 colour projectors provide the full spectrum of colour with a total output of 1.5 million lumens.
