Bur Dubai Area is located on the western side of the Dubai Creek and it borders Jumeirah, Downtown and Meydan districts.It includes the following areas:
Bur Dubai, Um Hurair, Karama and Oud Metha
These are the oldest residential and commercial areas of Dubai. Not long ago there were many old buildings, small streets and souks. The area was and still is a home to mid class people mainly from the Subcontinent.
In the recent years the Government of Dubai has invested a lot of resources in infrastructure. As a result the area has turned into a modern residential, retail and hotel quarters. It offers a wide choice of 3 and 4 star hotels, shopping malls and office buildings.
Zabeel
This community is divided into two:
Zabeel 1 is adjacent to Al Nasr and it is mainly residential. Part of it area are the Zabeel Stadium and Zabeel Park- a popular outdoor spot for sports and entertainment.
Zabeel 2 is mainly known for the Ruler's Palace (Zabeel Palace) - the official office and residence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Both Zabeel 1 and Zabeel 2 are relatively newer, more affluent communities with villas and town homes.

Dubai Maritime City
Dubai Maritime City is strategically located north of the main city centre, between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks. It is connected by a causeway to the wider road network, providing access to all of Dubai’s expressways including Sheikh Zayed Road.
The Maritime Centre District is the centrepiece of Dubai Maritime City. It will serve as an international hub for maritime business – the first ever purpose-built maritime cluster in the world. Fashioned as an urban corporate park, the District is comprised of eight waterfront and three interior parcels organized around a sweeping central boulevard – Maritime Centre Drive. An international hub for maritime business, the Maritime Centre district is a centre for maritime excellence.
