![]() Indego OverviewIndego´s is the finest Indian restaurant I have had the pleasure of dining in. Helped no doubt by the fact that the consultant chef is Vineet Bhatia, the first Indian in the world to be awarded a Michelin Star. I feel sorry for the real chef who barely gets a mention in any article but surely must have had a hand in what was to follow.
Once we were seated and sipping away at our aperitifs we were presented with tangy poppadoms and a medley of sauces. I had a delicious chick pea starter whilst my friend had chicken tikka slices, we both had a curry for mains and share a basket of different flavoured naans. We both concluded that it was the softest meat we have ever had in a curry. The flavours might not be what you are used to or expecting but this isn´t your typical curry house.
The decor and atmosphere at Indego is quite formal, not helped by the over eager staff but I´d rather them ready to serve than having to call for attention. The prices, especially for alcohol is enough to turn the stomach so for most it´s a restaurant best reserved for special occasions.
Indego was a treat from start to finish and is located on the first floor of the Grosvenor House Hotel.
