![]() The Meat Co OverviewThe Meat Company at the Madinat Jumeirah does what the name suggest and specialises in serving you up one of the most delicious steaks you can find in the Emirates. The menu is pretty simple for starters there are prawns, beef carpaccio, bruschetta we tried none of these, eager to find room for what was to come.
For mains there are fish dishes, ribs and burgers on the menu but it makes it pretty clear that what they do best is a good steak, you have a choice from either Australian Angus beef or South African A grade beef, 300 grams or 500 grams, fillet, t-bone, rib-eye, sirloin, rump, and more. The waiters if you ask their opinion will tell you what seemed to be a pretty rehearsed answer that the rib-eye is the tastiest because the fat is marbled through the beef rather than on the outside giving it more flavour.
I´ve always been a fillet man and stuck to my guns whilst my friend ordered the rib-eye so it was time to put it to the test. The steak comes with a choice of either chips, a baked potato with sour cream, or mash, and a bit of salad, then you have a choice of extra sauces or sides, they cost extra as well but we can definitely recommend the barbeque sauce which was deliciously fruity. The two steaks came and they were both delicious, the rib-eye was juicier but the fillet was so soft, it comes down to personal preference and that´s that.
The meat company is located right by the water, so it´s worth trying to get a table outside for some fantastic views of the Burj. The service the night we went was efficient but it has been known to get extremely busy and can get too much for the staff. Make sure you book early to avoid disappointment or turn up early and get your names on the list and go have a drink somewhere and come back, it´s worth the wait though rather pricey.

April 2009 Good for South African fare
C-L from Dubai
Excellent choice of game meats if you like a richer meat and in all my experiences always cooked to perfection. Yes, booking can be a small (night)mare if you leave it too late to do so. Good atmosphere, but would recommend going with a group of people and booking the private/VIP room for better/ quicker service. If you're English, don't order the African pap (similar to the Italian polenta), you will most probably not like it.

finally managed to get a table here, staff are quick to take your order but soon as they do thats it you will have to do the rest if you want anything..getting them to come to your table is a job in itself.i had the prawns to start and chicken as main.seemed fine and tasted good but very next morning i came down with food poisoning and if you have never had it before i hope you never do as its one of the worst experiences ever.

February 2009 Appauling
Neil Ferguson from Dubai
I made reservations for a dinner and they called back asking for confirmation. I tried to confirm and make an adjustment to 6 people. The answer I got was call back later I am busy at the moment. IT seems kind of odd that they called me so if they are to busy why call. No wonder I cancelled and changed to a more professional establishment

December 2008 Please
Hennie Mar? from Kempton Park South Africa
We were in Dubai in November and had the priviledge to eat at this place which felt like a South African place.
I myself was really satisfied!!!! My own rating would be Brilliant!!!
My wife had to ask twice that her meal be better prepared, and for that reason her experience was not what we all would have liked it to be.
Could I ask you another favour?
One of your waiters, an African guy, talked to me and gave me his contact details, but I lost his details. When we left he talked to me and we used his own language for part of that coversation. Could you please ask him to write to me at the above e-mail address??
I will definitely visit you again if we get to Dubai.
Thank you very much,
Hennie Mar?

December 2008 Just a thought.....
Kay from Dubai
Just to let you know, the reservation line does not open until 11:30am. But you are right, line is often busy. As this place is very popular, then yes it will get fully booked, so that would tell you in future to book further in advance!

November 2008 Customer service is horrible - especially when booking on the phone.
Jacques from Dubai
tried for almost 3 hours to call the Madinat branch...and was only getting either a busy signal or no-one answers, very frustrating and when you call the other branch in old town they say that they're fully booked and you'd have to call later for bookings as they are busy and fully booked!
the staff need lots of training!

March 2008 booking problems
Claude Hoffmann
Since 10 am, I have been trying to reach the Meat company by phone. Now it is 1 pm and so far the phone was busy. Stange, isn't it?
I called Mina Salam a few times, they can't connect me. This service is terrible. The operators don't listen, they can only state their name, so fast, nobody understands them.
So, now I'm stuck and will have to book a table somewhere else.
Bad service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
