Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC)
Dubai
Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC) was formed after local theatre enthusiasts, artists as well as art lovers and business people realized that something was missing in the city: a community entertainment and educational centre for the people of Dubai as well as future generations. DUCTAC's goal is to contribute to the creative and cultural development of the city through a variety of events and activities for Dubai's multinational community as well as visitors. It prides itself in being the first modern, non-profit, cross-community creative centre in the Gulf region.
DUCTAC is spread over 7,424 square metres on the second floor of the Mall of the Emirates. Venue facilities include:
• a theatre with a 543 person capacity
• a studio theatre with a 151 person capacity
• a high specification visual arts gallery
• dance and rehearsal studios
• a number of studios and classrooms including a pottery, sculpture and mosaic workshop
• food and beverage facilities
Not only is DUCTAC home to an Arts Materials Shop and The Old Library, it also hosts and produces a variety of productions, events, exhibitions, workshops and classes.
