Umhlanga Rocks is well known for its glorious, golden beaches and seemingly endless summer days. At the very heart of the Umhlanga Village is Granada Centre, home to a variety of businesses, especially restaurants and cafes. Here, in entirely new premises, is Angelo's Trattoria Ristorante, an Italian restaurant, which is regarded as one of the best restaurants in Umhlanga. And also one of the oldest. Quite a reputation to uphold, but here's the reason why it manages to do this so very successfully.

Angelo's restaurant is situated in beautifully refurbished premises - tastefully decorated with ceramic tiles, the decor has warm earthy tones. Wonderful wrought iron chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and stack doors open onto a large outside area, which is ideal for al fresco dining on those glorious, warm summer evenings. But it is not a case of totally out with the old and in with the new. The friendly family ambience of the restaurant has been retained and the signature decor of the family photos and plates signed by a wide range of famous diners has been retained - and yes, they are still on the walls!

The setting is important, but at the end of the day it's the food that matters, and Angelo's restaurant continues to live up to its reputation - Italian dining at its very best. The menu is more than commendable and has something to satisfy every appetite and palate. From mouth-watering starters and salads, through delectable tradional Italian pastas and pizzas, seafoods, steaks, succulent lambshanks to platters to die for - Angelo's Trattoria Ristorante has it all. Reason enough to return again and again.
