The Middle East may be one of the world’s most turbulent regions but it is also home to several of its most stunning travel destinations. You'll find wonderful attractions here: beautiful beaches, fascinating history, scenic deserts and much more.
The Middle East’s cities are particularly exciting. Beirut in Lebanon is the region’s most lively urban centre, with a great bar, restaurant and party scene. In the more traditional Damascus, the capital of Syria, the old city is an awe-striking sight, while the Biblical attractions of Jerusalem in Israel amaze both tourists and pilgrims. In contrast, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is a paradise for shopping lovers.
Beyond city life, the Middle East is overflowing with ancient sites. Don’t miss Persepolis and Esfahan in Iran, Madain Saleh in Saudi Arabia or Petra in Jordan. And with spectacular desert landscapes across the region, you can be sure that the Middle East holds a world of adventures for the enthusiastic traveller.
