Peru Overview

Peru

Peru may not be the biggest country in South America, but for its diverse landscape and fascinating mix of ancient and modern culture, it's always been a favourite. You might find the range of experiences on offer in Peru is too much to take in, so spending a longer time in the country to sample a little of everything can give you a full flavour of what makes Peru so special - not least the delicious local cuisine.

Peru is as famous for its enchanting Inca history and culture as its beautiful landscapes - from the floating islands of Lake Titicaca to the calm peaks of the Andes. The reputation of such iconic sites as Machu Picchu has unfortunately seen some of their charm eroded by tourism, but there's still plenty more to discover when you hit the Classic Inca Trail.

Stay in Peru's modern cities for a wholly different experience of the country, from nocturnal entertainment in its vibrant nightclubs to native restaurants serving such exotic dishes as guinea pig and locally picked tropical fruits.
