My Destination Florence is part of the My Destination network. A global network of sites created in 2006 by two young entrepreneurs, James Street & Neil Waller. My Destination is focused on providing websites that offer unrivalled levels of local information, actually written by locals. Each site is run by a team on the ground in each destination who have their fingers on the pulse and are providing real time information. The websites combine accurate information on the local area and businesses with the added usability of an online booking engine, offering travellers a one-stop shop where they can research and book their holiday on a single website.
The websites are fresh and simple in design, with a firm focus on quality and quantity of content. Reviews are always written first-hand and every effort is taken to obtain the best images and information available in order to present a true representation of the services on offer. User-generated content and feedback is also built into the website, building upon content quantity and accuracy; major features of the service we provide.

Heading up My Destination Florence - Monica Manetti & Stuart Goldsmith

Stuart Goldsmith is from London but, 25 years ago, after graduating with a degree in languages, he came to live in Florence where he tried to pay the rent by teaching English. An opportunity came up to work for a Marks and Spencer buying office in Florence, which he took up with relish and is where he learnt the rules of the fashion game. After a few years he started his own business and now sources private label production for top designers and store groups.

Stuart receives many visitors and knows how hospitable Florence's hotels and restaurants can be. As an entrepreneur his knowledge will be useful in helping MyDestination.com/Florence obtain the success he is aiming for.

Monica Manetti was born in Florence, traveled often all over the world for holidays and work. Her background is in Fashion, after the scholarship in fashion design, she worked for ready to wear productions for UK and USA in a Florence office. After a few years she had the opportunity to work directly with Luxury Department Stores in USA and Hong Kong, buying on their behalf Italian Fashion Brands both in Florence and Milan, then she experienced her own consultancy office as assistant buyer for luxury brands and private label production. During these years she grew another passion for vintage clothing and furniture, from which she started a new project: a consignment shop where unique pieces could be found.
