It's on the banks of the River Xunco at Cervo that the 35th queimada is celebrated complete with the dramatic spell designed to drive from the flames the evil spirits that attack life, solidarity and the spoken word. After sharing and drinking this fiery spirit, a potion worthy of witches and goblins, you experience a renewed sense of youth, solidarity and of belonging to a hard-working and creative community with a strong sense of solidarity. This is one of the best festivals to attend to appreciate local galician culture.
